Still messing with my home network. I gave up on the powerline AV and am back to a wifi bridge, which is slower than the powerline but hopefully will have less drops. Running CAT6 looks like a huge headache (what with having to deal with fishing it through exterior walls and a claustrophobic attic full of loose insulation) so I've pretty much written that off. Still keeping my skill queue updated though, and I've been doing some market pvp on my trade alt.

Honestly, just take the hit to your day and fish it thru the wall. Or run thru the outside of your house under an awning and drill back in.

It's worth it. Fuck that other noise, you'll always be fiddling with it otherwise.

Outside the house is probably a bigger hit because if I do that I'm going to remove all the superfluous coax and cat3 that previous owners put up while I'm at it.

Looks like my house. Coax everywhere from the previous owner and his satelite dish. :(

why dont you use a powerline over coax solution, when you already got that coax?

Power line over coax? You mean MoCA?

A lot of that coax doesn't lead anywhere, and those lines that do have a lot of splices in them. The ethernet over coax adapters are kind of pricey. I don't want to shell out a couple hundred dollars on a gamble that the existing coax is going to work - I'd be better off just running the CAT6 along the outside of the house.
